Know Your Stitches Per Inch (S.P.I.)

The number of stitches within an inch is very important in sewing. Especially if you will be sewing or working in production. The lower the number of stitches means heavier or thicker fabric. Higher number of stitches means lighter weight or thinner fabric. However, stitches are associated with numbers on a dial from 0 to 4 (or 5 depending on the machine). In this exercise you will learn how many stitches per inch, per number on your machine. These courses are designed for learners planning to go into the fashion/apparel production environment.
